A Return to Our Roots
In 2000, our father, Angelo Galleani, fell in love with this beautiful farmhouse and the surrounding hills. He carefully restored the property and spent the following fifteen years bringing to life his lifelong dream: returning to his family’s rural roots and preserving the authentic spirit of the Piedmont countryside.
Today, Galleani Country House continues that legacy, welcoming guests from around the world who wish to experience the genuine beauty, hospitality and traditions of this remarkable corner of Italy.
Galleani Country House
Designed like a small traditional hamlet, Galleani Country House consists of a beautifully restored stone farmhouse, a separate guest building, the former hay barn, and the original outbuilding, all thoughtfully preserved to retain their authentic rural character.
The “Crotin“
One of the property’s most distinctive features is the crotin, a traditional underground cellar carved into the local tufo stone. Before modern refrigeration, it served as a natural cold store for the families who lived here, keeping food and wine cool throughout the year until the 1960s.
Today, the crotin stands as a fascinating reminder of the simple, authentic lifestyle that has shaped the history and traditions of the Piedmont countryside, adding a unique touch to your stay at Galleani Country House.
